Sometimes a company can act as both a vendor and as a client for the agency. Previously the agency was required to process the vendor payments and client billings separately, even when the company interacted with acts as both a vendor and a client. To setup a vendor as a client: navigate to Finance setup → Vendors, select the vendor you want to setup, and choose the client on the Client tab.
Now the agency can choose to offset client billings with the reconciled vendor payments, for companies that act as both a client and a vendor for the agency, allowing users to simplify the vendor payment and client billing process. A notification will appear on the Media tab letting users know that one or more client invoice items can be offset against a vendor invoice item as a liability:
Once a client invoice has been offset with vendor payments the agency is not required to pay the vendor for the offset items, and they can bill the client for the remaining amount.
